Tagged: MEP 803a main terminal no power
I have an Mep-803A after i bought it I had to add all fluids and batteries ect. I finally got it running and it seems to run well. However, it has 115 volts at the convienence port, but there is no power at the main terminal lugs. Admittedly I have very little experience with generators in general, no experience with these military generators. This unit has 3295 hours, while running the guages read, 61Hz, 0% rated current, 115 AC volts.
I have both switches on 110 single phase and I have checked all the breakers I could see behind the instrument panel. I do have a second identicle unit with 600 hours I haven’t attempted to run yet, so I have the opportunity to swap parts strictly for testing.
MEP 803a main terminal no power I was just out working on this MEP 803a.There is a relay, about 4.5 inches square between the power selector switch and the main terminals. 3 large power wires in and 3 large wires out directly across. There are 3 smaller wires on the large input wires and another 3 small wires on the side. I find no part number or identifying marks. I removed the cover and found 3 terminals that made connection when I tapped it with a wood hammer handle. Can anyone identify this part? Name or part number is preferred. Can anyone tell me if there is another reason this is not working? Perhaps some other module not giving a signal to power on?
