MEP009B no Hertz reading

      This MEP009B has run OK in the past but now it is running at a lower rpm than normal and giving no hertz reading. At start up the hertz gauge will give a reading and then it will drop off. Moving the hurts selector switch from 50 to 60 does not seem to have an effect on it. Sometimes the rpms will surge up and then drop back and then surge again and then drop back. Any idea as to what might be causing this problem?

      You should use a known good multimeter and not depend on the on-board meters (just to rule out a bad meter).

      Have you adjusted the throttle?
